Old Bull was built in 1874, the first all-brick tobacco factory in the United States. Old Bull was at the center of the tobacco boom during the Industrial Revolution of the late 19th century. Their signature brand was Bull Durham Rolling Tobacco. In 1896, American Tobacco was one of the first 12 members of the Dow Jones Industrial Average.
Built in 1902, the Noell building has offices on the first floor and luxury duplex apartments upstairs. The Noell Apartments feature hardwood floors, century-old brick, and panoramic views of campus through 12-foot, paned windows. And that’s just downstairs. Upstairs, discover your own bedroom on the rooftop of the Noell building, with a private terrace and the most spectacular view in Durham.
